humanity


he drew a line in the sand where the high tide never reached

nevertheless wind and waves ignored his artificial limit

on the following day there was no sign he was ever there




arithmetic


abstracted points in a Cartesian plane

measuring all your unknown quantities

to infinitesimal precision

making meaning out of paradoxes

and poorly comprehended connections

bounded by some pretty convex region

representing all life’s petty constraints

deriving minimal needed meaning

to maximize utility functions

getting you from A to B with interest
